The union\u2019s concerns centered around work-life balance and automation, which they felt were not adequately addressed.<\/p>\n<p>The strike and lockout affected more than 1,200 dockworkers and 10,000 workers in related sectors, including trucking and rail. The disruption to operations has caused vessels to re-route and rail operations to halt services to Montreal, all causing a cargo back-up across Quebec and Canada.
